"Car painting is a fantastic job for me, since I can use various colors to create a lot of beautiful things," said Zhu Huishan, a student majoring in automobile maintenance in Guangzhou Communications Technician Institute.
In the first National Competition for Skills of Vocational Education held in 2020, Zhu Huishan, on behalf of Guangdong Province, participated in the car painting competition. She won the fifth prize, with an award of "National Technical Expert."

In the summer of 2017, Zhu Huishan changed her major from e-commerce to automobile maintenance, and became the only female major of automobile maintenance in Guangzhou Communications Technician Institute.
Her teacher asked if she wanted to join in the car painting competition class. Initially, she was just eager to learn more about this skill. But gradually she fell in love with car painting.
Car painting highlights four elements, including speed, angles, overlapping and distance. Each element requires the collaboration of theories and practices, as well as swift reaction.

A car painting competition usually takes four consecutive hours, so a strong body is an essential ingredient for the competitors. Therefore, Zhu Huishan had to keep running and lifting dumbbells on a daily basis.
In 2021, Guangdong held a job fair for leading enterprises. It was in that fair that Zhu decided to serve in GAC AION, an electric vehicle manufacturer.

In her view, different from school, whose emphasis was laid on teaching skills, factories focus more on manufacturing and production. "I've learned all the skills needed, so I can make headway in a short time," she said.
With professional skills and tenacious training, she became a skilled worker in the workshop within two weeks. One month later, she has been able to instruct others.
As for the future, Zhu said "I hope to accumulate enough experiences and knowledge to help push forward the car painting industry."
